The Grosse Pionte Park Foundation

What is the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation?

The Grosse Pointe Park Foundation was established in 1984 and was the first private foundation of all the Grosse Pointe cities. It is a non-profit Michigan corporation formed by action of the City Council of the City of Grosse Pointe Park. The Foundation is classified as a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code and all contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Grosse Pointe Park is privileged to have two beautiful lake-front parks such as Windmill Pointe Park and Patterson Park. At Windmill Pointe amenities include swimming, walking, tennis courts, picnicking, fishing, fitness center, movie watching, hosting family events and of course watching a breathtaking view of the sunset. Patterson Park features amenities such as walking along the boardwalk, ice skating, splash pad, putting/chipping green, tennis courts and warming up at the outdoor fireplace. To think, this is only a handful of opportunities the Foundation has had the pleasure to work on. What could be next?

We as a group have committed since the Foundation’s inception to provide our residents a model community in which to live, work and play, and we support wide ranging projects from both the practical to the aesthetic enhancing the City of Grosse Pointe Park. The Foundation relies upon YOU our generous donors for project funding. Without your support throughout the years Grosse Pointe Park would look very different than it does today. Anyone can be a contributor. The Foundation accepts all cash contributions, stock donations and contributions of real property. The Foundation receives gifts from individuals, corporations and other foundations.

In closing, we would like to thank you the residents or future ones for choosing Grosse Pointe Park as your home. The Foundation seeks your passion, commitment to quality of life and desire to improve our model community. On behalf of the Grosse Pointe Park Board of Trustees, Mayor, and City Council we would like to thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Shery Cotton
President, Grosse Pointe Park Foundation
